The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) is home to some of the busiest ports, in terms of tons of cargo, in the United States. This component of the Texas freight transportation network is responsible for conveying cargo to ports extending from Florida to Texas. This lecture will delve into explaining the importance of the GIWW as well as the challenges we face in maintaining this crucial Intracoastal Waterway.
