Houston Maritime Center presents:

A focused discussion on Jones Act and Offshore Wind Energy workforce development

The rapid development of and huge investments planned in offshore wind energy in the US will require that a trained, knowledgeable workforce be brought up to speed as quickly as possible.

There is no better place to recruit and train such a workforce than Houston, home to the largest energy, logistics, and offshore energy labor market in the U.S. Houston is a premier location to focus on training workers, often already experienced in offshore energy and familiar with the Jones Act, to participate in growth opportunities in both offshore and onshore wind.

During the Houston Maritime Center’s panel presentation, 5 pm – 6 pm on September 29, Janet Nodar will moderate a discussion of workforce issues and opportunities related to the soon-to-boom US offshore wind industry, with a focus on the importance of the Jones Act. The presentation will be followed by an Oktoberfest networking event from 6 pm – 8 pm.

Judge Ed Emmitt will kick off the event with a special message for our attendees to show his support for the Houston Maritime Center and the maritime industry.
