Offshore Wind Energy and OktoberFest Open House

September 29 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Houston Maritime Center presents:

Offshore Wind Energy Workforce Development for the Future
The growth of Offshore Wind Energy is on the horizon with the challenges of the Energy Transition. This new venture will bring a need for a trained and knowledgeable workforce to implement and man the requirements of this new technology to North America. Houston Maritime Center (HMC) will host a panel on September 29th to coincide with the Breakbulk Conference to be held in Houston. The panel will address the workforce issues related to Offshore Wind Energy covering aspects as related to the Jones Act, and most importantly the potential for reconfiguring logistics, maritime & energy sector jobs that will become redundant as new technologies grow. Houston is home to the largest skilled energy, logistics, & labor market in the U.S., making it the  premier location to focus on the training and re-training and leverage this asset for the Energy Transition.
