DOCENTS

What is a docent? A docent is a volunteer who’s passionate about teaching visitors about a museum’s exhibits and story. In our case, most of our docents are active or former Coast Guard or Navy, retired engineers from the oil and gas industry, and historians who are passionate about maritime history.

Our docents are experts in both modern and historical maritime information. Different docents provide different areas of expertise and we do our best to match the docent to the group. You’re welcome to request a particular docent and we’d be happy to see if they’re available for your tour.
